I got divorced in 2021 and, like most men, I was not the main cook in the household. I had 2 elementary-school-aged children and I now had the new responsibility to provide for their nutritional needs. As you all know, going through a divorce is a dramatic event - and for some of us, the drama continues for years to come. The challenge of working, caring for the kids, and taking over the day-to-day operations of the household was extremely overwhelming. So, when it came to "what's for dinner, dad" I did not have a clue. 

To answer the dinner question, I googled and looked up recipes in cookbooks. It would help but it was a gamble from night to night. Some of the recipes were too complex, some I just screwed up and the kids hated it. Figuring out dinner became such a hassle that I had to create a system.  I also tried ordering the preplanned dinners but again, they were expensive and time-consuming and the kids didn't always like them. 

This website is my answer to how I figured out how to select and cook dinners each night of the week, which saves me hundreds of dollars from not having to order food or go out for meals.  To be  noted, these recipes are for 3 servings.

Being divorced isn't necessarily a competitioin - however, it's always nice to hear that the kids enjoy more eating at my house versus their mothers. Let's get cooking kings!
